Seems to me that Kominato Yotsuha‘s acting is getting more reliably good. Glad to see that.

I think her acting was best to date in

And I think as well that was also the best plot, and best assembly of supporting actors she’s worked with. The fairly happy, consensual but interesting plot there just worked wonderfully.

It’s hard to make the extended gang-rape of a lovely wife who desired to be faithful an easy thing to watch. That could give any actress a tough job in this role.

Yet I thought that both Aozora Hikari and Kominato Yotsuha did well in the roles, in the two installments of the series so far. In a way, they both walked a kind of tightrope, bringing a fantasy plot of an isolated island “culture” like this to the screen without making too many scenes draw winces.

If my memory is correct, she hadn’t been with Bokki Sugiura until this movie. And I’d been fairly happy about that.

I used to try to assemble a list of the actors who she’s performed with, and the one’s who she didn’t work with yet. (See, for instance, my replies to CJS)
