Wonder what the record is for most misspelled name of an idol.

Is Ohana Non that hard to spell?

“小” is Ko.
“花” is Hana.

Therefore “小花” is Kohana which is on the cover in the bottom left with “のん” being “Non”. Which means it reads as “Kohana Non”. So, who has misspelled it?

I won’t fault your logic, and its an interesting point. But if someone asks how to spell a name, the named person can tell them. And can show birth certificates, other ID that has the “official” spelling. Documents can say Johnsen or Jonsen or Johnson . . . . Anyway

There are Ohana Non documents with an officially/commercially selected way to spell her name. Take for instance, the spelling on the spine/joint of the cover of the 2022-02-08 movie: “APAK-216 Bombing God Class F Cup Uniform Byte Daughter Unequaled Store Manager’s Big Cock, Big Cock Of Womb Crashing Ohana Non”

The clear writing in large letters on the cover of her 2022-02-11 movie: [BOBB-333] Constricted Super Beautiful Big Tits Boin “Small Flower Non” Box Fetish Blame Sensitive Nipples! Enjoy The Soft And Swaying Milk!

The smaller writing on the cover of [APNS-277] The Sales Technique Of Arriving Unannounced And Trading Sexual Favors. The Pushover Sales Lady. Non Ohana (There’s more)

If you find her name officially spelled differently in English on one of her covers, press releases, social media sites, etc., . . . well – That will be something.

And Jehuty, I don’t speak Japanese. I couldnt pronounce 小 if I tried. Googled it, and found it written out as xiǎo, meaning “small” (I believe her name means small flower.)

I don’t know why her covers have spelled her name Ohana. So to directly answer your question “So, who has misspelled it?”

The spelling choice was, I assume, by – Perhaps her studio?. Her Agency? Her herself? Perhaps the first person to put it on a cover lost their job for that spelling? That spelling that has totally messed up the use of Google Translate or other translation programs to spell her name right. . .?

Guessing.

But today it was misspelled a different way. Obana

[NACR-656] Reverse Bunnychan! Bombshell Amazing Tech Beautiful Girl Non Obana

(Hope its never misspelled Obama. . . That could really get people talking)

Thanks for your comment 🙂

I fail to see your point. Under your logic, someone can spell their name as “John” but say it’s actually “Dave” – names and the English language doesn’t work that way (we’ll ignore the Irish names). Whoever translated her name, done it incorrectly. “小花” is Kohana, there is no other way to spell it. Also you might want to check the translation of “小” again, you’ve got the Simplified Chinese translation, it should come out as “Ko” but both mean “small”. I’ve check the titles you have linked and in all of them I can see “小花のん” which is “Kohana Non”. However interestingly enough Google translate actually puts it out as “Non Kobana”. I am learning Japanese and know enough to know when a translated sub is ‘off’ but I know how hard it is to actually sub anything (as I used to do it) so it doesn’t bother me. Have you ever heard anyone actually *say* her name? It wouldn’t be the first time that someone’s name has been misspelt (ironically enough the word “misspelled” is incorrect to me as well). For example at the beginning of December, Hibiki Otsuki was promoting her calendar for 2023 and her name… Read more »

So you definitely don’t think we should spell her name the way its been spelled in English on her movie covers?

No, not at all, within reason… all I’m saying is take it with a pinch of salt. You’re talking about a country where English isn’t their first language let alone the script that they actually use. Errors are abound to happen. It even has its own phrase “Kazari Eigo” – “Decoration English”. For the vast majority of Japanese people, they mostly ignore the English – why wouldn’t they?! Their own language that they can read is right there on the cover!!!

You’re also acting/implying as if the English spelling is 100% correct when the Hiragana/Kanji spells out to something else and then moaning/pointing out that the spelling in some cases is incorrect when it actually isn’t. You’ve been honest in saying you know no Japanese, but when someone is trying to teach you some, you are sticking your heels in the mud and saying they are wrong… Do you see what I’m getting at here? Which spelling do you think is the correct one and takes precedence? The Japanese spelling or the English spelling? Seeing as you like to ask questions, I’ll ask you this one again. Have you ever heard anyone actually say her name? How was it pronounced?

Just read this. And the answer it no. Haven’t. And I don’t know whether I could “hear” it well enough.

Do you care to direct me to a way I could hear her pronouncing her own name? For instance, some time mark in some movie of hers where she introduces herself?
