January 2019 JAV digest + gossips
This coming February the AVOP releases from 2018 will finally release. AVOPVR videos did already release this last December for those who enjoy virtual reality and such. Which makes me wonder if we will still have 2019 AVOP videos this next September, or the whole schedule changed forever.
Next month we will feature Meguri, who won the poll. Gotta say it’s quite unusual a retired actress wins that poll but well deserved.
Moreover, DMM awards are already warming up and will happen in May this year. I believe those who want to attend and buy tickets can already do so.

I think the Idea pocket batch in January 2019 was very good, and on the contrary the S1 batch was quite dismal, but still with some good stuff in between.
GOSSIPS:
- Mita An to retire.
- Like we said last month, Shunka Ayami will retire next March 31. And will have her retirement video around that date too.
- Ogata Erena (緒方エレナ) seems to be quitting too.
- Yua Mikami is following Asuka Kirara footsteps and she opened a fashion brand named “Your’s” and an online shop too which sells fashion apparel and clothes. I visited and everything was sold out…
- Seems Nanami Rina will be back to shoot new AV. Her last video was the impressive IPX-233.
- Hatano Yui 10th anniversary commemorative video (HNDS-061), sold 10000 copies on presale.
- Some Chinami Ito videos disappeared. Rumored she will wipe her catalog.
- Apparently, Nagase Asami retiring too.
- Kaede Karen twitter got deleted, at least for a short while, and then reappeared… which was a bit confusing.
- Kitagawa Erika to retire.
- Yuzuki Kokona (優月心菜) a voice actress, idol, comedian, and what-not will make a debut for Idea Pocket studio in AVOP-401. She also claimed she will continue with her past activities.
Also, Non-JAV related, but starting this January Japan has a new departure tax also dubbed by some as “Sayonara-tax”. A departure tax which will be applied to anyone leaving Japan (foreigner or Japanese), and will cost 1000 yen each time (9 U$ roughly).
Non-JAV related too but seems 7/11 and lawson supermarkets ceased selling porn magazines in their stores (or plan to). Some argue because of the upcoming Olympics but who knows… Maybe times are-a-changing in Japan too, in any case, I doubt they will reverse this decision even after the event. Anyhow, F*cking Olympics… 😂
Not suprised to hear Erika Kitagawa retiring, she been around far longer than I assumed (almost 10 years) and she’s most certianly passed her peak.

I don’t think that’s real, in fact that’s gotta be part of the trick they pull on her in the latest video (IPX-266). Typical pick-up/vouyeur stuff, handsome guy gets hired by director to seduce Tsubasa, and the two get close enough for the guy to propose marriage for Tsubasa, only for the crew to burst in and say “You just got pranked girl!”
Now she did had thoughts of retirement around 2016 (pretty much when everybody else at IdeaPocket retired), but changed her mind.

Damn would be sad for me seeing Nagase Asami retiring as a long time fan of her since her gravure days. As well as Shunka Ayami, probably one of the best jav girls I’ve ever seen.

a little update on Koharu Suzuki. she now has a blog where some of the photos are locked behind paywall (kind of like OnlyFans) at about 500 yen per unlock. if youre a huge fan (uhm like me uhm), you can consider donating to her for the contents, or you can contribute directly to her without expecting anything in return. seems like shes having a health problem and need the money for treatment and hiring lawyer.

Why she needs a lawyer?
she dislike the studio still trying to make money off her through compilation even after she had quit. and she is in engagement with a lawyer to see how she should go about doing so.
She wants to legally wipe her own catalog from distribution sites (including omnibus/compilations)..I read some comment in her blog that she should get in contact with Sazanami Aya since she also is hiring a lawyer for this process..
I guess Aya succeeded since you can’t search her titles anymore in R18.com or DMM/Fanza..Even articles or interviews about her in Japanese sites have been taken down..
Usually AV actresses who want their cataloge wiped from sales exercise the so called 5-year-rule, which says that the actress can legally make the manufacturers withdrew the titles 5 years after retirement (Rico Yamaguchi used this along with other actresses). I guess Koharu does not want to wait that long.

So for the next month’s poll, I’m still holding out for Yuu Asakura. Everyone seems to like her, and she gets a lot of comments in her videos, but she didn’t get the win. A shame, since her videos (despite her long career and high video output) are pretty scarce online. Otherwise, another actress I find awesome that seems underrated is Yu Kawakami. I really like Maria Aine as well, but Idk if she’s a good poll choice.
