OK I know what I’m going to write might sound weird at first, but bear with me for a minute. I have come to the conclusion that the Japanese police has got a number of issues with their selection and training methods. They somehow manage to get astonishingly attractive female officers, but frankly they lack in athleticism and toughness for field work. Even worse, they carry their personal problems to work and show poor discipline. We can conclude that a major makeover is required first in their psychological assessment procedures during selection, and second in their training, both physical (with an emphasis on martial arts) and technical (investigation and infiltration skills). Moreover, the equipment needs to be seriously modernized. This is beyond shameful. The 3rd largest economy in the world seemingly cannot manage to provide their female officers with suitable material for their job, and they have no choice but to wear utterly impractical catsuits which are good eye candy but seriously difficult to move with.
