RION meltdown 2018, possibly already retired

RION (Utsonomiya Shion, Anzai Rara), is currently becoming a hot topic following her social media deletion and release from model Agency T-powers. Even the situation is still very unclear the consequences might be severe, as she might even be facing retirement or a forced re-debut under a new, yet to be decided name.

Those who are familiar with Utsonomiya Shion might remember her much glorious 2015 comeback for SNIS-517, when she was forced to take a several-months hiatus and use a new name following her model agency change. Well, as events have unfolded this last month she might need to do a new comeback cuz right now RION might be actually very much gone for good.

This comes as pretty shocking, to say the least. Because RION is one of the most popular and beloved JAV actresses in the industry right now. Even more sad, because her most recent releases were pretty decent too.

Reasons, more gossip…

The reasons are still unclear and they won’t so easily disclose the information, because no one of them would benefit from revealing information. But the most probable cause is that she breached the contract prejudicing the agency. And the agency attempted to be tough (and think long-term) punishing RION hard, a girl who is popular  right now but who won’t last forever, there are many other AV girls.

So far, right now this is what we know:

• RION page at T-powers, wiped. http://www.t-powers.co.jp/official/talent/rion/
• Her page at S1 is gone too.

We didn’t have confirmation from RION herself or anyone. But it’s pretty safe to say that such a move does not come from herself.

So the only possible explanation is her agency, T-POWERS kicked her out. It’s worth noting that in Japan it’s the model agencies who manage and own the AV actress image right, and they own her name plus her social media accounts. So if T-POWERS wanted to delete her social media, well, they can. If they want to pull the plug on them for whatever reason, they can do it lawfully so.

T-powers is one of the biggest agencies in Japan. And last time RION had a “meltdown” it was also because she changed agency, from 8Man to T-powers.

The possibility of a comeback is fairly high still. And I see a variety of possibilities that might happen right now:

1. She retires for good.
2. T-powers reinstates her with the same name after a while. (as if nothing happened).
3. T-powers sells her name and rights to another agency.
4. She “re-debuts” for another agency under a new name.

Although I wanted to wait for further confirmation and to see what happens, there’s a high chance we won’t get much more updates. Rather one of those long months of “silence”, and no new releases. Like we see in many other AV girl cases, which they just suddenly go silent and don’t star in many new titles.

Like I say, it might be nothing and we have to wait for a little more. But if confirmed this might be the biggest retirement of 2018 so far.

And a final note, In Japanese forums it was said that this video might have been what got RION in trouble initially. A short youtube video in which RION can be seen exchanging contact info with a Korean youtuber, plus telling him her real name. lol.
