I didn’t try to “zoom in” on the book that they hold and look at in the first four minutes of the movie. Didn’t try to see if my cell phone’s translate feature would work to let me know what they were actually holding, discussing.
Wonder whether this movie will be posted to the net subtitled, or if someone who reads and speaks Nihongo (日本語) will chime in to say they understood the dialogue at the start, or got a glimpse of the pages of the book.
The studio sure did give the book a strangely concealed blank white cover.
Is that any way to treat “pure literature?” Mask it like it’s a banned book?
