Yu did about 50 titles for WANZ, she was really their main girl for a while. She went through quite an evolution in her career, initially being visibly depressed about doing porn at all, and eventually really enjoying her time in ‘the industry’. So much so that she even did a number of completely uncensored works, a few of which were just scorchers.

I’d say around that time Tsubomi, with her double exclusive with Moodyz and Wanz Factory, and given the tremendous popularity she enjoyed between 2010 and 2013 was still fresh in people’s minds, was #1, not only in the honorary sense but also as the one who reliably released vids among the 2 or 3 best selling of the month for the studio. But Yuu was the other big exclusive name in Wanz, and in the Moodyz of the day it was probably Akiyama Shouko, Kamisaki Shiori, and later Hatsukawa Minami. Minami was the first big example of the eventual evolution of Moodyz as a less hardcore, more cutesy idol-like study.

If I recall correctly Yuu retired once, following the usual (at that time) exit path with some uncensored videos, and came back later as a Wanz exclusive.

Forgot to mention how I remember thinking at some time (maybe not much before Asakura Yuu retired) this: “it’s time we talk about Yuu”.
She and Tsubomi seemed to be eternal in terms of both performance and looks. I was always looking forward to their next Wanz video and checking on their website the very day they were announced.

I felt a bout of melancholy and visited Wanz’ site probably for the first time in years to take a look at Yuu’s covers. For the longest time Wanz had a very outdated webpage design, but they’ve very obviously switched to the same one as S1’s site (several other DMM/WILL studios have).

Yuu was gorgeous from the first vid in mid 2014 (so around 9 months after Tsubomi became a Wanz x Moodyz exclusive) to the last in mid 2018. She didn’t seem to change at all. I was surprised when I saw she, like Tsubomi, was 160cm tall — fairly big by Japanese standards. Taller than JULIA for instance (who many would have identified as the “bigger” actress).

I certainly missed her after her departure, no question. Regarding her height, she’s 160 cm, sure. But I’ve don’t think I’ve seen her in a JAV vid where she wasn’t the shortest woman in the scene. And Japanese guys aren’t tall, yet most made her look tiny. She weighs probably 100 lbs.
