After his company went bankrupt, Tanuma wandered the streets aimlessly and was picked up as a manservant of the Ichijo family. He makes a lot of faux pas and mistakes, and is treated coldly by Ichijo’s wife, Reika. No matter what he does, it backfires, and she yells angrily at him. He’s already at the limits of his patience. . .

But that only describes the backstory of how Horio came to work as a servant in a wealthy couple’s home.

I read the whole subtitle job now. It was a really good job. Lots of attention to detail, which I love when this site subs movies.

Wish the plot description had also had some attention, bore SOME relation to what actually happened involving Kawakami Nanami in the movie.

The young mother deserves better. Admin, can the inaccurate movie intro be redone?
