This video got passed over by most when it was uploaded to the site. That’s seems (to me at least) to be just not right. I believe it was likely due to the fact that dialogue is crucial to appreciating this video in it’s full glory. This is a fantastic video, the script and commitment by the actors, is phenomenal.
Admin, you don’t subtitle any longer I don’t believe, you’ve been using AI translation versions of videos for months now. They do an adequate job in some circumstances. But they do a poor job in many cases, maybe in another few years they’ll be very credible and sophisticated. They probably will be as the large language models get stronger and deeper. This video is so subtle and it would be fantastic if you could post it to the site with a translation you’ve done yourself. I know you’d do real justice to this GREAT video. Ai does a decent job and will improve, but Ai and auto translators will always struggle because Japanese relies heavily on context and unstated subjects. Not to mention social rules and pronouns, etc.
We know these subs need quality control but that’s still dozens of hours per week and a ridiculous way to waste anybody’s life. At some point it had to end.
