It’s very easy really, although a bit time-consuming. You just have to self-insert as a tentacle, see the world from their POV, imagine how you’d spend your time as a tentacle, what you’d do in tentacle university, your daily chores, tentacle job-seeking, the tentacle job you’d do to pay the bills (these lockers are quite expensive for a tentacle), etc. Would you live with your tentacle pals or become an hermit and live in the woods? Participate in politics or mind your own stuff? Once you see the world as a tentacle, everything will come naturally.
