When people hear hooves, they think of zebras, not horses.

Unless SM shapes their thinking

Because 三角木馬 sankaku mokuba means a wooden horse-like thing used in S&M play or torture.

Or as Wikipedia explains in its article titled 三角木馬

A triangular wooden horse or SPANISH DONKEY is a kind of cruel punishment, also known as Spanish horse torture”, a torture method used in the Japanese War Period, Edo period, and Meiji-Showa period. . . .

But whether it should be called a Spanish Donkey, or a Triangle Horse, it hs STRIPES.

Like I said, when hooves, they think of striped zebras. Not unstriped donkeys. Not unstriped mules. Not unstriped Asses. Not unstriped horses.

The Wikipedia article 三角木馬 begins this way

三角木馬或西班牙驢（Spanish donkey）是一種酷刑裝置，日本也稱「木馬責め」，是日本戰國時代、江戶時代、明治昭和時期的拷問手段。

Thus, I’d think that those in the know about why the wikipedia article used the term SPANISH DONKEY might translate 三角木馬 that way.

But – Google Translate isn’t into SM phrases, apparently. Yet on that point, the actual title includes, between the cover’s xs, and with Google translate’s help:
