thank you for staying around after your retirement. It was really kind of you towards your fans to ease the pain of separation. It’s still going to hurt a lot when you disappear altogether and erase all your online presence in August. It will be a testament to how awesome you are and all the great times you gave us. I hope you will find happiness and success in your future endeavors (including your plans to get married soon).

She retired a while ago, but was still doing fan meetings, open-air photoshoots (the thing they have these months where cosplayer / models / AV actresses do swimsuit shoots), etc., and still active on Twitter and other social media.

She’s retiring for good in August and deleting everything 🙁

Back in the days that JAVLand existed, I noticed it didn’t have any movies from certain retired idols. Rio for example. But the JAVLibrary still listed the movies, and this site still had them playing. Plus googling them still found them.

Would love to read any details you (or others) might offer as elaborations

She’s deleting all her social platform presence: Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, her Fantia fanclub, etc., except her TikTok account (since she already had one before becoming an AV actress). As for the movies: for a long time, there was a self-imposed industry rule by which actresses could request all their movies to be taken down five years after retirement. The largest distributor, DMM/FANZA, did follow it, and this is why it’s no longer possible to legally buy movies online from legendary actresses like Aoi Sora, Mihiro, Rio: they requested the takedown many years ago. More recent cases include Kasumi Kaho or Yoshizawa Akiho (deleted just a few months ago). The only legal way is to buy used DVDs in brick&mortar stores like the ones in Akihabara — but apparently even this market is starting to get restricted. FANZA’s current policy is that, while the movie cannot be bought anymore, if you got it earlier it can still be watched from your library. This is why I’ve amassed a large collection including especially older videos that are not often reshared and which would become hard or impossible to find again were legal distribution stopped. But wasn’t sure. Were you describing Kawakami Nanami as Nagisa Mitsuki’s best friend?

My wording wasn’t clear: it’s Kamisaki Shiori (I also deplore the typo in her name above). They remain very close friends now and often appear in each other’s X accounts (sometimes with their babies). If you watch the last few minutes of Shiori’s retirement movie (MIDE-717) you’ll see Nanami making a cameo. She rushed all the way to Hokkaido, where the movie was being shot, just to be with Shiori in her last moments as an AV actress. You’ll realize how close they are if you take a look. Nagisa Mitsuki’s pal in the industry was Kururugi Aoi. Their last event as AV actresses was a joint nanairo stream on youtube. Still can be watched if you’re interested, but it’s basically them reflecting about their experience in the industry, movies they costarred in, etc., as they sign photos (cameos by Wakamiya Hono and Minazuki Hikaru). Mitsuki was a fan of Aoi’s before joining the industry. Even after becoming an AV actress, she attended Aoi’s fan events as a regular fan.
