In the Japanese countryside, Goro struggles to manage his convenience store alone. Unable to hire help, he works too much, and his wife eventually leaves him.

Devastated but determined, Goro finally manages to hire a young part-timer, Kaede Fua. However, Kaede turns out to be a lazy Gen Z woman, more interested in collecting paychecks than contributing meaningfully to the store.

This proves to be the final straw for Goro, who decides to teach her a lesson.
