- Sho Nishino announced retirement plans after a 15-year career. She will be missed for sure. For me, she was easily one of the very best JAV actresses when it comes to acting, at least.
- Misaki Honda announced her AV retirement at 27 years old. Her retirement video will be MEYD-512 to launch July.
- Rena Fukiishi will retire soon.
- Sasahara Rin retires as well.

- Some grim rumors about Aida Asuka having committed suicide allegedly having jumped out of a building. The rumor gained grip as Aida’s friend Ichika Kotone (Hosho Riri, 宝生リリー) ranted out angry on Twitter about Aida’s videos still being on sale and her Twitter account still online and what not. She also was angry about Aida’s Asuka only being paid 200K yen for her recent acting services. Shortly after she deleted these tweets.
And as a last unrelated note, I saw Asuka Kirara will attend Taiwan’s red expo (TRE) this Agust (08.02.2019). A decent chance to see her live if anyone’s is interested. Moreover, Yua Mikami, Takasho and Julia, and many others will attend too…

The Ichika Kotone situation was even messier that that. Shortly after the rant about Aida Asuka’s twitter, she posted a series of messages ending with 2 tweets: “don’t call an ambulance” and “sayonara”. This triggered a wave of replies exhorting her not to kill herself, including one from her friend? and Belltech colleague Honjou Nana (something like “Get on the phone! Don’t do it! Didn’t we make a promise to go to a café and do purikura?”) who panicked when she failed to reach her or the Belltech staff. Some extra context: Ichika Kotone has got cervix cancer and was expecting to undergo extensive surgery later this month. Moreover, she said she saved Aida Asuka once (she rushed to her place and they did some twitcasting when she was about to kill herself) but wasn’t there for her the second time… Fast forward a few days, and Kotone’s tweets are all gone. Really sad, but I guess she was always a bit too shy and good-natured for this industry (ironically the whole “innocent girl” vibe was her main charm). Her twitter is still up for the moment.

Her career as “Aine Maria” with Prestige is definitely over, but it does look like she’s considering returning under another name (in another agency). There’s that “wait for me!” in her Twitter profile, and the two recent tweets “I resigned altogether. Let’s encounter again! I’ll go meet you” and later “I guess I won’t be able to use this name anymore. My SNS accounts might be deleted as well. But I’m sure you all will be able to find me!”

And now for my report on a personal interest of mine…
I (and a few other people) had been foretelling Nagisa Mitsuki’s ascension in FANZA’s rankings for a while, and it finally happened in full force. She’s #3 in this month’s DVD sales ranking.
It took a bit longer than originally expected because most of her earlier releases were uncredited or sold only on MGS (#26 in April IIRC, #29 in May, #16 in June), but it was clearly going to happen. Her charm and acting chops all but guaranteed it.
She’s a Moodyz regular now, shooting a lot and keeping up with her great SNS interaction. Her PKPD-046 keeps on climbing and is now the 8th movie with the most likes ever on FANZA.
She’s gotten there by riding her first wave of movies mostly focused on bishoujo themes. Her popularity could grow even further because there’s a second wave coming soon with more diverse themes and more proactive roles including seduction and chijo. I’m particularly looking forward to MMUS-034, KTKL-056, and DVAJ-402.
I checked the monthly ranking and was suprised to see both Matsumoto Nanami and Toka Rinne in the top 10 (#2 and #9). I knew they benefited a lot from becoming freelancers but they’re really soring right now (and probably will the future as well, Nanami is like shooting a new AV every 3-4 days).
There’s another new actress by the name of Leila Hazuki which was quite hot right now.

Even I find them distracting sometimes (rarely). I’m OK with the fang (it can be cute in fact), it’s rather the front teeth.
I find her charming though. She is wonderfully expressive and makes a variety of most suggestive facial expressions. That may well be her largest draw. She’s got pretty body lines when she’s on all fours. I probably wouldn’t mind if she had a bit more bust (while keeping balance with the overall body), but I’m OK with her current size (I tolerate flatness much better than Hitomi-size monster boobs). In her first videos, she’s proven acting skills beyond those you’d expect from a newcomer at that point in her career. I’m looking forward to her next wave of movies in more dominant roles.
