February 2019 digest
February was a very short month but packed with good JAV releases. And while still trying to digest the overload of good JAV releases we had last month, we finally had hands on the boatload of AVOP releases.
Plenty of good stuff and I would also keep an eye on the Madonna studio videos, which are pretty good. This month I quite enjoyed this videos =

So what happened in February? AVOP 2018 happened. A total of 69 videos on this occasion, making it the smallest AVOP batch to date. In general, the videos are good, as expected. 4 videos that instantly caught my attention were this =

I enjoyed the creative approaches, and they are videos that combine good entertainment with hot sex scenes.

Hazuki Nanase (葉月七瀬), formerly known as Otoha Nanase is set to retire next month in a video for WANZ studio. Cool thing is that she’s going to be the first actress to retire with a VR video: WAVR-045. She also has been appearing in a good amount of VR videos since last year.
Moreover, on a recent interview AV actress Marica Hase revealed that she was diagnosed at late 2018 with cancer, and she raised a fund here to cover her medical expenses. For now, she seems to be doing well, but the most surprising thing (for me), is that she claimed to have plans to continue shooting adult films in the future. Current she’s 37 and living in Los Angeles.

It’s tragic. New face or not, Tia is yet another favorite to leave JAV in the last couple years. New stars aren’t rising at the same rate as existing ones are retiring/ghosting.
Felt like 2012 to 2018 was a good resurgence of amazing AV actresses that popped up out of no where then they all retired at the same timeframe.
Although her English seems pretty fluent she’s definitely not a native English speaker. More like just someone that spent a lot of time in America. You can hear her accent come through when she speaks and there are times where it feels like the structuring of her sentences are a bit weird.

Proof-read: You’ve posted the Marica Hase paragraph twice. She was “diagnosed”, not diagnosticated. Yep, shes still living in LA and is raising funds, which basically says that pay for movies in the US is pretty average unless you’re a big name. Breast cancer, I believe.
Speaking of cancer, Yuma Asami is appearing on Abema TV in a host/panelist role on a talk show, besides doing appearances and her music career, with the odd mention of her battle with cervical cancer.
Finally, Shibuya Kaho is super popular, partly because shes fluent in English, so her live streams on Instagram seems her using both English and Japanese. Shes very much an otaku as well, which hooks all the geeks in.

Tokyo Paro Paro NEXT no longer has Minato Riku on board. She retired altogether from the public eye last month (after her photograph exhibition) and in fact her last act as Minato Riku was the paroparo video she took with Kogawa Iori.
Paro paro is a T-powers thing and features other girls from that agency: Hatsukawa Minami, Katou Ayano, Kirishima Rino, AIKA, and more recently Kohaku Uta, Kasumi Risa, Sayama Ai.

I saw a retweet on Minato’s Twitter page from the Ebisu Muscats Twitter page saying that they had a farewell party for her. I’m wondering if she’s just going to disappear now. Really hope she at least sticks around with Twitter after she deleted her Instagram. Pretty much the only thing she’s been using and it’s pretty seldom as of late also.
What??? I was partly only watching that channel because of Minato Riku. Didn’t she make a big show after she retired from AV about how she was still going to do youtube and all these other things? She clearly wanted to keep being relevant and try to go mainstream famous. When the first Paro Paro channel got demonetized, I remember that Riku talked the most out of everyone and clearly with more passion about how unfair it was that they were getting demonetized just because they were AV actresses despite the videos being PG.
I guess her plans to become Kirara fell through. Probably wasn’t making what she expected after she quit filming, and so she just left the public eye altogether. No point in being known as an AV actress if you don’t make any money off it I guess. A real shame, since I liked seeing her in the videos.
Kirara level of fame is in a league of its own. Only a few JAV girls have dabbled in that territory. Something must have happened to make her suddenly stop everything. She still had the Muscats, Tokyo Paro Paro and her little monthly show with Natsume Hanami. Then all of a sudden a good chunk of the girls quit the Muscats including Riku. She ended her show with Natsume then quit Tokyo PP (had a graduation-like video and one last exit interview video with Iori Kogawa) and her Twitter presence is basically a post every week or so. I know she did a crowdfunding last photobook exhibition in December/January to “retire Minato Riku” whatever that means. It’s unfortunate really, I only really got into her as of 2018 when she already quit porn and she’s become one of my favorite JAV stars. Was hoping to see more of her in Tokyo Paro Paro and maybe some late night TV shows or something but I guess she wants to go back to a private normie life. Anyone know why the Tokyo Para Para channel was relaunched as NEXT? I don’t watch the content but I vaguely remember there used to be a channel under the same name with the same cast not too long ago. There seems to have been a content purge since then and a NEXT relaunch
Youtube disabled monetization on the original channel, at least that’s what I gathered from the last video they uploaded on the original channel (my Japanese is very limited). I think it had something to do with the more risky content they uploaded.
Compared to what they have now on their NEXT channel which is mostly a lot of food related stuff the older channel definitely had some more risky videos (still pretty tame stuff when you realize that most of the girls on there are AV stars) like touching each other, grabbing each others breasts or holding each other down tickling each other.
