Miyuki Arisaka is a somewhat frustrating JAV idol for me. On one hand, she’s got a kickass body and a lovely face. On the other hand, her acting is far too passive, even though she is very capable of conveying things to the audience at times.
This means that she really needs the right movie in order to shine. This is true to some extent for all JAV idols – put my favorite star in a lousy movie, and it’s still going to be a lousy movie. But more than most, Miyuki Arisaka really needs the proper movie to carry her.
So when she has the right movie, such as this one with its can’t-miss plot, she will deliver an incredibly hot performance. I also thought she was absurdly sexy in PRTD-015, which has a really elaborate plot to carry her along. And HND-611 is OK for similar reasons. But a lot of her movies are kind of dull despite her attractiveness because she just doesn’t act enough to carry them.
I agree, somehow she doesn’t inspire me much either. I was also quite surprised she had a video for PIYO.
I’m not really surprised that PIYO or anyone else would want to cast her. If I were a JAV filmmaker, I’d want to cast her. She brings the hotness and she’s still fresh. And she sells movies. But if I took pride in my work, I’d be damn careful to only put her in certain kinds of films, and PIYO didn’t get that part right.
And speaking of PIYO and casting, Piero Da took your suggestion and cast Hoshizaki Rin, though only in a small part. If he’s interested in making PIYO more like MUM, he should use her loli appeal in a starring role. (He should cast Nagisa Misuki too.)
