So she left S1 without much glory, and seems she is graduating from her idol group Honeypopcorn. What a total meltdown.

If someone knows more about the intra-story I’m also curious to know.

Regarding JUY-706, the story was so mediocre not even Tabuchi the drama could save it. For a studio that specializes in mature ladies is probably a bad idea to be using a 23yo just because she came their way, same as with Hoshina Ai. The story is weak, and the young-wife gimmick not believable. Even worse for Madonna fans. 2/5

If this does not qualify as career mismanagement I don’t know what would. One theory for her HoneyPopcorn graduation I see floated in Japanese sites is that she left in shame after her status downgrade: she’s the only one who couldn’t make it as an exclusive actress. Her problem is that this is a plausible and believable explanation (no matter whether true or not), and that’s bad news for her career. Looks-wise, she barely passes the S1 threshold, and I say that as somebody who does find her fairly attractive. S1 puts her in a spotlight where she’ll be compared to some of the most alluring girls in the industry. She wouldn’t have landed there if she didn’t carry the “former idol” badge (I’ve long forgotten what AKB or whatever subgroup she was a trainee or early member of). The problem is that S1’s “former idol” spot is already solidly taken by Mikami Yua, one of the industry giants (who by the way has long outgrown it and can stand on her own feet as a great AV actress now). If you put them together, Matsuda is always going to look 2nd-rate next to Mikami. Now, consider Sakura Moko’s case.… Read more »

Although she was not exploited as a former idol, Usa Miharu was also an idol before entering the AV sector.

Yeah this is really a great assessment of Miko’s situation. The thing is that Sakura Momo not only she managed to keep her regular studio status but both she and Kawaii really knew how to capitalize her own “cute former idol” image and despite seemingly being the least attractive of the trio, she makes up for by being engaging, enthusastic and bubbly in her performances. That already makes Moko a much better and memorable performer than Miko (who at this point really comes off to me as whiny and mediocre). Plus every single of Moko’s films have a super high rating on DMM so she certianly established her own audience.
I don’t want to fully write off Miko but she does faces an uphill battle career-wise.

Basically she terrible as a JAV actress and a JAV actress in a fake Kpop group? Got it.

love the different meaning for graduation in Japanese. western terms its more a happy occasion but many Japanese terms it more sad. You are retired or fired LOL.

A few months ago Honey Popcorn had announced auditions for new members, so they will probably continue with a new lineup.
It should be added that Mikami Yua and Sakura Moko, in addition to the AV, must also think of the Ebisu Muscats.

I don’t know much about these bands. Where can i watch Ebisu Muscats or Honey Popcorn videos? Seems interesting

Personally I got an idea about her graduation from Honey Popcorn.
Not being an exclusive actress steals a lot of time in the AV sector and this may be one of the reasons that made her leave the group.
Another reason may be more emotional, meaning that she may have felt excluded from the fact that Sakura Moko has joined the Ebisu Muscats.
On her future in the AV sector it is difficult to express itself. Maybe Prestige, Max-A or Maxing. Needless to point to another because his skills in acting are really bad.

You’re very right, I’d forgotten about the Ebisu Muscats. Miko being the only left out adds to the “dishonor” of being the only non-exclusive actress which probably contributed to her graduating.

And I can totally see her going to Max-A or Maxing because these studios are in desperate need of an exclusive actress that puts them on the map; both Miko and these studios are basically grasping at straws. I mean, Max-A just took Tomoda Ayaka, who I personally like, but is approaching the 10-year mark and isn’t a great hook for younger people who didn’t know her before. Plus they’re losing Nagase Mami soon. Maxing is almost literally a 2-person operation. They’re basically Acky, who’s been there from the very beginning, and Yume Kana. And Acky is going soon. But frankly, there’s no way Miko can fill the void left by Acky, despite being 10 years younger…

Prestige seems less likely. They excel at finding new talent and rarely take in girls from other studios. They did pick up Sonoda Mion after she left S1, but that’s rather the exception that proves the rule and you cannot really compare Matsuda’s physique to Sonoda’s…

i think it’s just preference. personally, i find her look kinda similar to Koharu Suzuki, but the latter seems better bodywise
