On the title translation. Especially the largest characters 甘つゆ Dew? Honey? Soup? Broth? Sauce?
The English on the cover clearly reads:
“Secret Book Overflowing Honey”
(With what I think may be more miniscule writing next to it in English that I can’t read to save my life)
And yet Google Translate translated the main title as “Secret Book Young Wife’s Sweet Soup”
Soup matches the beginning and ending scenes of the movie, at the kitchen table, where he’s enjoying soup she made for him.
The site went for “Sweet Dew” instead of Honey or Soup. The original in Nippongo/Nihongo is 甘つゆ Ama tsuyu with 甘 Ama meaning sweet and つゆ tsuyu apparently translating as soup or broth or sauce or dip. . . or –
Any Nippongo/Nihongo speakers out there know a really good translation? That perhaps explains nuances of meaning?
It’s been subtitled out there on the web. The dialogue is wonderful.
The husband has to work late on the couple’s first anniversary. That day, an intruder rapes the young bride. The intruder doesn’t rush away, opting to stay for quite a while, taking her in the bath, then all around the home, and she starts to respond. To her shame, she finds herself tongue-kissing the attacker.
She doesn’t tell her husband, and finds she’s become frigid with him after the rapes.
She goes to a sex therapist for help, is advised to try intimate baths and vibrator / massager time together. The couple try it, but their real return to intimate passion (leading quickly/happily to parenthood) comes when her husband arranges a foursome couple exchange, where they watch each other for quite a long time with the other swapper, and then passionately reunite
