I cannot remember a time when the WHO had a conference concerning disease problems in that area. I have heard such concerning India which seems to be a more developed country.
All told it may not be the environment that determines a people, but there habits snd customs within it. Take Mexico which is far behind the USA in all respects except overall hygiene in which, on average overall, the US
