Never know what to think when I find a great movie to subtitle has been subtitled – again. Sometimes I look at the various translation choices for a few minutes. But I really long for the subtitling of so many of my favorites that haven’s been subtitled anywhere on the net yet, and don’t understand what the best way is to respond to a redundant/dubpicative/alterative subtitling. A “thanks for the dedication?” A “but did you notice that. . .?” At least it takes less time than translating a novel. Read a few translations of favorite novels, Count of Monte Christo, Don Quixote, etc. into English. I didn’t gripe that there’s more than one version of such classics to read in English. So, here’s hoping the people who find the time to sub JAVs live long and prosper. And eventyally get to all the good ones us non-speakers long to understand.
